Lecture 5: Wastewater & Sewage Treatment

The process behind cleaning our water supply is one of high importance.  As you have seen, the contaminants may take many forms, be very toxic and are often carcinogenic.  You will learn how bioremediation is combined with pre and post treatment processes to remove almost half of the contamination by the biological processes alone.  An insight will be given into some of the biological technologies used in the everyday treatment of sewage - these will be fully explained in lecture 6.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Sources of contamination
  2. Wastewater treatment Process
  3. Biological Stage of Treatment
  4. Common biological processes
  5. Pre & post treatment

After going through the slideshow, the quiz link will take you to another set of ten multiple choice questions to complete and email across.
